Are there any particular restrictions on the type of work I can do? I have just started treatment and luckily don’t suffer any side effects from the treatment.
Answer
There are two sides to this question-legal and health.
Legally, in some countries, HIV-positive people are not allowed to do certain jobs-i.e. work as surgeons or in some fields of the food industry. Usually, those limitations are really small and in some countries do not exist at all.
When it comes to health-maybe you should look into a job that is not very heavy or stressful as huge pressure or stress may affect badly the immune sustem. In addition, some professions may expose you to a risk of getting infected with something else-i.e. if you work in an infectious disease hospital, etc.
Generally, it is fine to take the job that you like, as long as you decide that that will not affect your health negatively.
