Question

Why am I feeling tired?

I am on treatment and my CD4 count is 733 and my viral load is 20.

But i am feling very tired, what is the reason?

Answer

Hi,

Thanks for your email. Your CD4 count and viral load are both very good. With these results you wouldn’t generally expect to have any HIV related symptoms.

If you are feeling more tired than usual it’s a good idea to discuss this with your doctor. This could be a side effect of treatment, a sign of an infection or could be completely unrelated to HIV. There are many things that can cause tiredness and I’m afraid I can’t diagnose this for you.

Hi Hilda, I am sorry to hear about the loss of your husband. Feeling tired and depressed after loosing your husband is expected. You are experiencing grief. This takes time to heal and unfortunately there is no quick fix.

Your CD4 count and viral load are both excellent. Being HIV positive is not contributing to your current symptoms.

At i-base we are not doctors and cannot provide medical advice. Talking to your doctor can help with your symptoms of grief. They will be able to put you in contact with services to help you through this difficult time e.g., counselling and peer support.
