What is the link between acne and HIV?

I did not experience acne when I was a teenager until my mid twenties. I had a very severe acne which has left black spots all over my back. What could be the cause of this at this stage? How can I get rid of these black sports, as they lower my self esteem? More so, is there any link between acne and HIV? I am worried please help.

I am sorry to hear about the distress that acne is causing you. The good thing though is that there are a number of effective acne treatments out there. I am not aware of any link between HIV and acne. The best thing to do is to talk to your doctor so he can refer you to a specialist.
