Volunteer opportunities
i-Base is not set up as a volunteer-based project, but opportunities to volunteer are sometimes available. These are arranged on an individual basis.

Treatment advocate (part-time)
We are currently looking for a reliable and friendly part-time treatment advocate to help with the treatment information services.
Specifications include:
- a good knowledge and experience of issues related to HIV and treatment.
- confidence in researching treatment questions from medical publications and treatment guidelines.
- good written and spoken English – including being able to explain and discuss medical issues using everyday language.
- the ability to problem-solve.
- computer and web literate, including standard programmes.
- the ability to work carefully with an attention to detail.
- being happy to work without direct supervision.
- a drive to understand ongoing treatment issues.
Training will also be provided.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has already developed a good understanding of treatment issues and who has the time and interest to want to develop their skills further to help other people.
This position may include the opportunity for paid work.
Applications are particularly welcomed from HIV positive people but HIV status is not a requirement for this position.
