Q and A

Question

Is my viral load normal and can I still have children?

I’m  HIV positive and my viral load is 25 and my CD4 count is 1136, I just want to know if my viral load is normal. And if I can still have children?

Answer

Thanks for getting in touch.

To interpret your results I need to know whether or not you are on treatment.

If you are on treatment, then your viral load is normal and your CD4 count is very good. If you are not on treatment, then your results are unusual but in a good way. Most people need treatment to keep viral load this low.

You can still have children – just as if you were HIV negative.
