Q and A

Question

Is it OK to take you meds at slightly different times?

I’ve been on ARVs now for 5 months. I’m not sure what my viral load is as I haven’t been told (I live in South Africa). The other day I took my meds at 8.40 instead of 8.05, is this OK?

Answer

Thanks for getting in touch.

Yes it’s OK to take your meds at slightly different times, this won’t have any effect on your viral load.

As you’ve been on meds for 5 months, your viral load should be undetectable. However you’ll need to have a test done. In South Africa it’s possible to have a viral load test done and for free.
