Who can take PrEP?

Anyone in the UK who is HIV negative and who could benefit from oral PrEP should now be able to access it. A smaller number of people will also be able to use injectable PrEP.
PrEP is especially important if you:
- Have used PEP.
- Had a recent STI,
- Have chemsex, or
- Have partners with these risks.
Please talk to your doctor or nurse about how these risks affect you.
If a doctor does not want to prescribe you PrEP, please ask them why.
If this is for a medical reason, they should explain this. Or they might not know about the new UK guidelines.
If you still cannot access PrEP, ask to speak to a more senior doctor. If there is still a problem please email i-Base.
