NAT report: Young MSM in the UK

Report from NAT from an online survey of over 1000 young MSM (14-19 years) in the UK about where get information about sex, relationships and HIV and how helpful they find it.  (PDF)

  • Almost a third thought HIV might be caught from kissing.
  • Nearly three-quarters didn’t know about PEP.
  • Three quarters had not received any information about same sex relationships at school, with a third not receiving any information on HIV transmission and safer sex.
  • Over half (55%) had been bullied at schoool because of their sexual orientation. Of these, 99% reported this from another pupil and over a third (39%) from a teacher or other adult.
