Two excellent recent webinars including new data and trends on HIV drug resistance, especially in reference to the drug class of integrase inhibitors (INSTIs).

International Drug Resistance Workshop webinar

The first in a proposed series of webinars being organised before the International Workshop on HIV Drug Resistance next year is now available online.

This first workshop included a panel of international speakers to review the latest evidence and concerns related to integrase inhibitor resistance and cross resistance from the same class of drug being used for both HIV prevention and HIV treatment.

The workshop was moderated by Daniel Kuritzkes from Brigham and Women’s Hospital, USA

Collaborative community webinar on drug resistance

A second excellent webinar, included a community approach to explaining and discussion HIV drug resistance. It was organised jointly by the Center for Global Health Policy & Politics, the Fight AIDS Coalition, and the HIV Policy Lab.

This webinar discussions included data from a WHO report concerning an increase in drug resistance levels to HIV antiretrovirals – and what this means for HIV care.

This is a virtual discussion on the growing threat of HIV drug resistance and effective ways to address it and reduce associated morbidity and mortality among people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA).

Panelists include Michael R Jordan, Tufts University; Patricia Asero Ochieng, Dandora Community AIDS Support Association (DACASA); and Sanjana Mukherjee, Center for Global Health Policy & Politics.

The webinar is moderated by Sharonann Lynch, Co-Director, Center for Global Health Policy & Politics, O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law.
