Question
Can I switch between Eflaten and Atripla – ie 3TC vs FTC?
16 July 2016. Related: All topics, Changing treatment.
I have recently been diagnosed with HIV and have started treatment with Eflaten.
From what I gather this pill cannot be bought where I normally live (perhaps due to patents?) but was wondering what are the repercussions of switching to Atripia after treatment with Eflaten after a year? Is it safe? I know the difference between the two is FTC and 3TC.
Answer
Hi
The only difference between the meds in Eflaten and Atripla is that one uses 3TC and the other use FTC.
The two drugs are so similar to make it esy to switch from one to another.
