Hi Joy, what ARVs are you taking? Different types of ARV will be recommended to be taken at different types of the day. I am sorry to hear you have cancer, are you under a cancer specialist? and are they aware you are HIV positive? This is a discussion you will need to have with your doctor but both treatments are important for your health. There is going to be more benefit to taking them both rather than only taking either your cancer drugs or your ARVs.

Hi Jose, please dont worry about this. If you are have any mild side effects it is better to miss tonights dose, and return to the normal time after this. This is also best if your meds include efavirenz.

Hi , actually today by mistake i took my ARV medication in day time instead of night. What shall I do?

Should i skip tonight’s dose or shall I continue with daily routine?

    Hi Anelisa.

Once your viral load becomes undetectable its ok to take your meds a few hours either side of your normal time.

    1. I would like to know if one has to take their ART treatment at promptly the exact time each day? (e.g 20:00)
    2. If they are a late, what is the acceptable time in terms of minutes?
