Q and A

Question

I’ve skipped a week of meds, what should I do?

What happens if I skipped my meds for a week, should I take them again or go to a doctor??

Answer

Thanks for getting in touch.

Skipping a week worth of meds isn’t really ideal for anyone.

Depending on where you live, the options are different.

If you live in a country with many choices for treatment, and where getting viral load and resistance tests is easy, then contact your doctor first. This is to use these test to check you did not develop drug resistance.

If you live in a country with limited choices and no resistance tests, it is probably better just to restart your meds as soon as possible. Still tell your doctor though about this.

It might also be good to talk to your doctor about how this happened. This is so that any problems can be looked at now. It would be good to stop this happening again in the future.
