Question
Can I change the time when I take my meds?

I’ve been taking my meds for a while. My viral load is undetectable. Is it OK if I change the time that I take them? I want to change from 8pm until 9pm.
Answer
Thanks for getting in touch.
Its perfectly fine to change the time that you take your meds from 8pm until 9pm. This won’t have any effect on your HIV, nor viral load.

Hello Eddie and thanks for getting in touch.
TLD is one of the most effective ARV medication we have today.
It generally is well tolerated and it is strong enough to be very effective.
I would suggest the following for the taste and appetite:
– good mouth hygiene: wash your teeth at least twice daily
– visit a dentist to ensure this is not a problem from your teeth
– inform your clinic doctor and pharmacist about this experience – they might have ways managing this
– identify foods that taste good to you and eat those most of the time
– try to have often and small meals (5 a day) as they might help to boost your appetite and prevent weight loss
– ask your doctor to refer you to a dietician to help prevent losing more weight
– make sure your weight is documented in your clinical notes so your doctor can check for any changes
Most side effects are resolved within 6 months but please feel free to keep in touch if that is not the case
Hi,
I’ve been on the arv Acriptega medication for 3 months. Am battling with appetite most times and sometimes the food may taste too salty or experience a metallic taste in mouth.
This is making me to lose weight and all. Please help. Is the prescribed Acriptega LTD effective? Aren’t there other more effective arvs?
