Question

Can I have AIDS if I am HIV negative?

My doctor says I have AIDs but all my test came negative to HIV, is that possible?

I am not taking any antiretroviral medication because of that.

My doctor can not explain that to me.

All she said is HIV causes AIDS but now I really don’t believe that. Can you explain to me that?

Answer

If your HIV test is negative, then you don’t have HIV.

If you have symptoms similar to AIDS, but the HIV test is negative, then you still don’t have AIDS.

You need to go back to your doctor for a clear explanation.

I don’t understand what she means either.
