Hello. I am from Malaysia. During Covid-19 I got stuck in UK (visitor visa) and I won’t be able to go back home. My medicines are running out in 20 days. Just in case i will stuck here another one or two months, can you tell me where I can buy medicines during this hard time and how much will it cost me?Â
Answer
Hi
Thanks. Many people are in a similar situation both here and in other countries.
Luckily, in the UK, you are still able to get free HIV treatment. Your residency/visa status does not affect access to HIV treatment.
Please contact an HIV clinic close to where you are staying. Doing this in larger cities might be best.
Please see this link on how to find a clinic.
Please start this asap as most sexual health clinics are restricting appointments and using telephone or virtual clinics. As a new patient, you would normally need to have new HIV , CD4 and viral load tests. Different clinics might have different policies now due to COVID-19.
If you have problems, please contact us again, including by phone: 0808 800 6013 :)
