Q and A

Question

I’m positive, what’s my life expectancy?

In Oct 2019 my CD4 count was 274, in June 2020 my CD4 count was 484. What is my life expectancy?

Answer

Thanks for getting in touch.

It’s not possible to say what a persons life expectancy will be from their CD4 count. However, as long as you’re taking ARVs, (which you are) then your life expectancy should be similar to that of a negative person. Hi Caleb,

It’s good that your partner has been on ARVs for a couple of months. But it’s important they see the doctor and show them the rash. Sometimes people can react to ARVs when they start treatment.

Please check with the doctor as soon as they can. It’s important to find out if they need to change ARVs to stop this reaction.

My partner has started developing little sores all over her body. She has been on ARV’s for a couple of months now but I am still worried. Should we worry?
