I’m pregnant and positive and on medication. My partner isn’t on medication. Is it safe for us to have sex without a condom? I’m worried about the risk to the baby.
Answer
Thanks for getting in touch.
If a child is going to contract HIV, it will be from their mothers as the following explains:Â https://i-base.info/guides/pregnancy Due to you being on medication the risk will be reduced.
Having sex without a condom won’t have any impact on your child’s possible status. However, if your partner is positive then they should be taking ARVs.
