Q and A

Question

My viral load isn’t going down and I’ve been on meds for 5 years.

I’ve been on ARV treatment for 5 years. My viral load does not reduce . What could be the problem?

Answer

Thanks for getting in touch.

If your viral load is still detectable, or high and you’ve been on medication for 5 years, this would imply that what you’re taking isn’t working. You’re going to need to talk to your doctor and ask them to switch you to another combination. If this has been an issue for years, then this is something that should have been done already.

How is your relationship with your doctor?

    Hi Emmanuel,

If you’re having issues with your new combination, please discuss this with your doctor. You might be able to go back to your original combination.
