How can I change to formula feeding?

Hi. I’m an HIV positive mom on treatment my baby is 5 weeks old. I’m breastfeeding and my baby is using nevirapine. I would like to know can I change him to formula as I think my baby isn’t getting fully fed with my breast milk. He is constantly crying for more and he is always on my breast when his awake.

Please talk to your hospital or clinic about your concerns. Everything with you baby might be very normal.
If the clinic agrees, it is usually easy to change to formula feeding. This also depends on you having access to sterile water to make up the milk. This will depend on where your live.
