I was diagnosed with HIV 4 years ago, I’ve never been on ARVs. When I start taking ARVs will they work?
Answer
Thanks for getting in touch.
It’s great to hear that you’re now ready to use ARVs. The ARVs will control your HIV, and yes they’ll work, and that’s even if you’ve not used any since your diagnosis.
Here’s our guide to starting ARVs- https://i-base.info/guides/starting
If you’ve not had your viral load and CD4 count tested in a while, when you talk to your doctor about starting, as them to run these tests.
