I’ve not taking my meds for 8 days, is it OK to restart?

Yes you can restart taking your ARVs, and it’s good that you want to.

As you’ve been off your meds for 8 days, it is possible that your viral load might already be detectable. This might increase the risk of HIV transmission. Condoms will prevent this risk until you are back on ART with an undetectable viral load again.

Please let your healthcare practitioner know that you missed 8 days. Once you restart the meds your viral load should become undetectable again.
