Q and A

Question

Can I travel to the US and keep my status confidential?

Answer

Hi,

How are you doing?

The travel restriction to the US regarding HIV positive status was lifted in 2010. There is no need for you to disclose your status at any point.

What is required is for any prescription medication you are taking with you, you should have a doctors certificate in English explaining that the medication is for personal use.

This applies to all medication, not just HIV medication. This is a US customs regulation.

Any further questions please do get in touch,

Josh.
