Can my baby take Buscopan syrup?

Can my 10 day old baby who is on Nevarapine take Buscopan syrup. She is having trouble sucking milk from the breast.

Congratulations on having a baby. 10 days is a little young for taking Buscopan syrup. It is not advised to give Buscopan to your baby until they are at least a month old.
Are you able to access a health clinic/midwives? As baby is so young there may be techniques they can teach that can help baby latch.

Dear Thuli, please contact your clinic for advice about helping your baby over colic. They might also be able to help with ways to mask the bitter taste, if this is a problem.

Is there a reason you want to give baby Buscopan everyday? If baby needs this, you should speak to a doctor to make sure it is the right action.

Hi Consciousness, congratulations on having a baby. Have you noticed anything different with baby? It is unlikely that giving baby buscopan once is going to cause a problem – even if not recommended.
If you do notice anything odd/different do speak to a pharmacist or doctor. But this is very unlikely.
Why did you need to give baby buscopan in the first place? How is baby doing now?
