Does my baby need nevirapine when formula fed?

Can I ask, my newborn tested negative for HIV and I breastfed for a week. I changed and used strictly formula. Must I continue to give my baby nevirapine syrup with the formula?

Congratulations on having a baby. It is great news that they have tested negative.
Yes you do need to continue giving your baby nevirapine.
WHO guidelines recommend that the baby is on nevirapine for the first 4-6 weeks of life. This is even when being formula fed.
After these 4–6 weeks, the nevirapine can be stopped.
