Q and A

Question

Can I enter Qatar?

I am going to the World Cup in Qatar. Will I get rejected entry if they find my medication? If so, are there any tips for getting my medication in?

Answer

Hi, how are you doing?

Qatar does not have testing on entry for HIV.

It is not clear if the entry ban established in 2008 is still in place.

As you are not intending to stay for more than one month no testing is needed.

Carrying your medication with you alongside a prescription can prove that your medication is for personal use. In this case as long as your medication does not specifically state ‘for use with HIV’ there should be no problem.

You can further confirm this by contacting your local Qatar embassy.
