Q and A

Question

Moving to Edinburgh, will I be able to access my medication?

Hello, I am from Argentina and will be moving to Edinburgh in August to study for a year. I am currently on treatment with Biktarvy.
What should I do when arrive in Edinburgh to continue the treatment and medical care?

Is it possible to continue taking Biktarvy? I am carrying meds for one month, how long would it take to receive medication?

Answer

Hi, how are you doing?

Access to HIV medication in the UK is free. Access is by sexual health clinics. These are all over the country including Edinburgh.

As you are on established treatment, taking your medical notes will help speed the process of getting more medication. In this case it is probable that you will be able to remain on Biktarvy.

Taking a months supply is a great idea, you should be able to access HIV medication within this month.

Josh.
