Do Luvigen and Reydin work the same?

Hi it’s Vee again, My husband was taking Reydin tablets noq switching to Luvigen. Do these tablets work the same?

Yes these tablets will work the same. They are the same medication. They have different names as they have been made by different companies. They will still contains the same drugs and work in the same way.

    Hi Lex, Reydin is a generic version of TLD. TLD can be used to treat HIV or can be used as PEP for a 30 day course to prevent HIV transmission after an exposure.

    Taking Reydin does not mean you are HIV positive. The only way to determine this is by taking an HIV test.

    Hi Luceth, yes you can take Reydin alone. Reydin is a combination of medications meaning that the one tablet is enough for treatment. You also do not need to take it with food. It is best taken in the morning. As Reydin contains dolutegravir it can sometimes cause problems sleeping. Taking it earlier in the day means that this side effect is reduced by the time you go to bed and it won’t disturb your sleep.

    Hi BT, you can take Reydin and Purbac together. What does your multivitamin contain? If it contains minerals inc. calcium, zinc or magnesium there is a chance of interaction. The multivitamin can prevent some of the Reydin being absorbed. To avoid this it is easiest to take them at opposite ends of the day e.g., take Reydin in the morning and the multivitamin before you go to bed.
