Can traditional medication stop co-trimoxazole working?

My mom gave my son traditional medicine while he is taking co-trixamole. Can that put my baby at risk?

How old is baby and what traditional medication was used? Co-trimoxazole isn’t used to treat/prevent HIV. It is used to prevent other infections that people can be at risk of when they are HIV positive.
