Q and A

Question

I am experiencing night sweats…

I have been undetectable for 22+ years and I have been experiencing for the first time, night sweats. Is this normal?

Answer

Hi, how are you?

Night sweats are not normal. This is regardless of being HIV positive.

As you have an undetectable viral load is suggests HIV is not the cause of your night sweats.

You should speak to a doctor about this and any other symptoms you have noticed, if any. There are many causes for night sweats and this will need to be managed by your doctor.

How long have you been experiencing them?

Josh.

Hi Bob, please see here: https://i-base.info/qa/284 Being asymptomatic means becoming HIV positive (seroconversion) but you don’t have any symptoms e.g., tyou don’t experience any illness/symptoms to suggest you have become HIV positive.
