Is it safe for baby to be on nevirapine at 7 weeks?

My baby is still taking nevirapine and its the 7th week is it safe?

Yes it is safe for baby to continue with nevirapine.

In most countries it is recommended to stop nevirapine at 12 weeks however baby can continue after this.

Stopping at 12 weeks is due to there being no further benefit from treatment however it does not risk baby’s health to continue.
