Hi, I am Enid. I want to stop breast feeding at 6 months, will my child be safe from HIV.

Yes you can stop breastfeeding at 6 months. After 6 months there is no longer a risk from mixed feeding or giving baby solids.

It is recommended to have one final HIV test after stopping breastfeeding to make sure baby’s status is confirmed, but it is more than safe to stop.
