Q and A

Question

Is the test reliable?

My friend did HIV test five years ago and is +ve. and he did it again after two years to marry someone and again it was +ve. In the two cases the test takes 30 to 45 minutes to know the result. Is this type of test reliable? Should he make another test to be sure 100% on the result. Of course he immedately accepted the first results and started adjustment.

Answer

Yes, the rapid tests are reliable. In this case, he has done two consecutive ones and both are positive, hence he is HIV-positive. You can find more information on testing in the HIV-testing section of this site.

If you have unprotected sex with someone whose HIV status you do not know, you put yourself at risk of catching HIV – even if this risk is low in some circumstances,

A condom protects you from HIV and other sexually transmitted infections.

At what ages do must people catch the HIV virus?

And say if a girl had sex with one guy twice and almost got pregnant and has not had sex for a while. Then turns around and has sex with another guy unprotected….and the guy has not done anybody is there a way he can get infected like that?
