Can you please give me information on the right procedure in getting pregnant when you are HIV positive?

There are different options as regards getting pregnant when you are HIV positive.
The options take into consideration whether your partner is also HIV positive or whether they are HIV negative.

Hi Shamiso, it is great that you are on ARVs. Do you know your current CD4 count and viral load? and how long have you been trying for a baby?
Being on treatment will reduce the risk of transmission to as low as possible. When on treatment, the risk to baby is less than 1%. HIV positive women all over the world when on treatment give birth to healthy, HIV negative babies.
Baby will also be given their own treatment for a short while after birth to help reduce this risk further.
Being on treatment is the best way to help you conceive. Treatment is safe to take while trying for and being pregnant. It is also safe while breastfeeding. As treatment keeps you healthy, it is the best way to keep you and baby well.

Hi Celeste, yes you can get pregnant. ARVs will not affect you getting pregnancy. It is likely to improve getting pregnant as being on ARVs will keep you healthy. ARVs will also keep baby healthy.
