Q and A

Question

Are we really both HIV negative?

I had an exposure in April 2007 with woman who I paid to have sex with me. It was my only ‘out of marriage’ sexual encounter. My last sex with my wife was in Jan 2008; and in Feb, we found out that she was pregnant.

She had a HIV duo test 90 days after our last sex. It was non-reactive. I too tested exactly 1 year after my sex worker encounter. It was also non-reactive.

Are both our test results conclusive? Are we really both not infected?

Answer

Yes, you are both HIV negative. More information on testing and infection is published here.
