I am taking PEP, can I have uprotected sex?

I’ve been taking lamzid for 5 days now and I want to find out how this will
affect my pregnant partner when we have unprotected sex?

I am taking lamzid because I slept with someone without a condom and I felt
very unsafe so I went to the doctor within 72 hours and he prescribed lamzid for me.

My pregnant partner is only 7weeks pregnant will this harm our baby?

There is no data on whether PEP can harm the unborn baby. However, unprotected sex whilst you are taking PEP is not recommended. This is because you don’t know your status and you could infect your partner. That is why it is important to wait until you finish the course and have done the follow-up confirmatory test.

    Hi,

    I’ve been on PEP, I took it within 33hrs of exposure and at times I’ve been remembering to take the dose after 2 hours of the time passing.

    I have been having unprotected sex with my wife who is HIV negative and I’m worried that I would infect her.

    I tested negative prior to taking PEP gen3 test and I have tested again 3 days of PEP because I’m worried and hardly have peace of mind.

    What are the chances I have HIV and infect my wife? Obviously she keeps initiating and I can’t really share details of my exposure with her.

    PEP needs to be taken within 72 hours and ideally within 24 hours. Taking it after these times will not have any effect on reducing the risk of HIV.

    I have been depending on penagra for 6yrs now my body has started to resist it what can I do?

    Hi kato, while on PEP it is not recommended to have sex as you are unsure of your status.

    PEP will protect your partner from any risk of transmission but remains advisable to use a condom/abstain from sex until you can test to confirm your HIV status.

    Hi Cee, no you do not need to extend the course of PEP.

    As you have been on PEP with 2 further doses remaining after this exposure, PEP will work like PrEP. You can complete your course of PEP when originally planned.
