Answer
Nowadays, HIV-infection is something that is not as scary as it used to be 20 or even 10 years ago.
Newer and better medications have been developed and appear almost on a yearly basis. In addition, there is much expertise and scientific data that have been accumulated during the years and that gives a way better chance for improved management of the condition.
Needless to say, that there are still countries where people do not have medications and monitoring tests and in those places HIV still causes sickness and death.
If you have a good doctor and access to treatment, care and support, then your chances to live a long and productive life are really good. Everything will be fine, I am sure.
