Q and A

Question

Is my HIV test result above the cut-off value?

I am male 22. My question is related to HIV/AIDS. I saw my blood test report for HIV, it was non-reactive. The cut off value is 1.00 and my blood value was 0.32.

Someone told me that standard value should be 0.10 to 0.20. As my value is 0.32, therefore I had been infected with HIV, but its intensity is very weak.

Maybe after 4 to 5 years it will cross the cut off value and my blood report will become positive for HIV.

Answer

The person gave you wrong information.

The test shows you are not HIV-positive.

Although there are different tests the cut-off is usually 1.0.

Any test results should also come with the normal range. So if a test using a different range, this will be given with the result.

The value 0.02 is an HIV negative result.
