Q and A

Question

Is it safe for a man to give oral sex to a woman?

What are the chances of a man passing on HIV to a woman through vaginal oral sex? There was no bleeding gums or anything. I have read that HIV cannot survive in saliva. Also is it safer for a man to give oral sex to a woman?

Answer

The chances of infection are low, as long as there is no blood involved or the oral sex does not lead to any wounds, etc.

The amount of virus in saliva (wothout any blood in it) is really small and generally not enough to lead to an infection.
