Q and A

Question

Do antacids interact with Tribuss?

Answer

Atroiza is a generic version of Atripla.

Tribuss contains three ARVs. These are efavirenz, FTC and tenofovir.

Unlike some other HIV medications (such as atazanavir) none of these drugs are expected to have interactions with antacids. This means that it is safe to take Tribuss and antacids together.

It is a good idea to discuss all medications with your doctor or pharmacist. This includes over the counter treatments and any supplements, herbal remedies, or recreational drugs.

They will be able to check whether interactions are likely and to monitor your treatment if necessary.
