Can I stop breastfeeding at 3 months instead of 6 cause my family doesn’t know and I have to go back to work.
Answer
Thanks for getting in touch.
How long you breastfeed for is up to you. If you want to stop at 3 months then you can. If you’d like to continue to give your baby your milk, you could express it and give it to them in a bottle. Is this something that you’ve thought about?
If you do stop giving them your milk, its better that you don’t mix feed.
Hi Mpumi, please talk to your doctor or clinic about this. Your baby only needs milk for the first six months with nothing else added.
Good day, i have been mixing a bit of cerelac in my baby’s milk and giving him tea from time to time my viral load is <20
The reason I'm mixing my breast milk with cerelac is that he doesn't get full if it's just breast milk please advice
Hi Yolo, congratulations on your new baby, this must be a special time. Please don’t worry about the small changes in formula milk as the meds will still be giving the best protection. Please do talk to your doctor though so they understand the situation and so they can also tell you this. Best wishes
Hi there
I’m living with HIV, it’s been a year now and I’m on treatment. I mixed feeding while my child was less than 10 days because of various reasons but I stopped and I used formula because I have to go back to work.
How much is the risk of having my child infected, I was giving her medication given in hospital since I am HIV positive.
