Question

I feel dizzy when I take my ARVs, what can I do?

I‘ve been on biktarvy for 9 months I always feel dizzy and lightheaded. I find it hard to focus. Is there anything that I can do?

Answer

Thanks for getting in touch.

Though feeling dizzy can happen when someone first starts med, it shouldn’t last more than a few weeks. If you’re feeling dizzy once you’ve taken your meds, and you’ve been on them for 9 months, this is something that you’re going to need to talk to your doctor about. It may be worth trying another type of ARV.

Hi Vuyani, thanks. TB treatment is usually only for a certain period. HIV ARVs are treatment that we need to stay on for many years (until there is a cure).
