The best and only way to improve your CD4 count is to be on ART. Have you started this treatment yet?
Recovery of CD4 count is slow. It is not like suppressing viral load which can happen in a number of months. Increasing CD4 count can be a few years but it will slowly increase while on treatment.
Treatment stops HIV killing CD4 cells. The body can then naturally recover it’s own CD4 count. While your CD4 count is 160 have you been offered any antibiotics? Usually it is called co-trimoxazole. This is used to prevent other infections while your CD4 count recovers.
