Question

How common is COVID in 2026?

Hi there, do people living with HIV in the UK still need to have COVID-19 vaccinations in 2026?

Answer

Hi there

Thanks, the best way to see how many people are getting COVID-19 is the UKHSA database.

This shows that from September 2026 to mid-October 2026, rough 200–350 people a day were diagnosed with COVID-19 in England. From April to August, figures were usually only 10–50 people a day.

The UKHSA website shows data as graphs and tables going back for the last five years.

This other government website shows weekly cases of both COVID-19 and flu.

People living with HIV are recommended to get both vaccines.

It is safe to have both vaccines at the same time if this is easier.
