If you are infected by a viral disease, does that mean your CD4 counts are always low?
Answer
Thank you for your question and I hope I understood you correctly. I will answer your question in an HIV context. When you are exposed to an acute infection like HIV, your CD4 count will initially drop but will recover after a short period of time. It will then stay stable for a long period of time but will then gradually start to fall once again. I hope that is helpful. Please do contact us in the future if you need further clarification.
