Question
Licking chocolate and twitching…
3 March 2008. Related: All topics, HIV transmission.
I had what was described by the GUM as a very low risk exposure. (Protected oral, and licking chocolate off a stripper’s chest). Until now, I’ve had the following tests:
30 Days – Duo – negative
60 Days – Dou – negative
70 Days – GUM – Clinic antibody negative
80 Days – Insti test Negative
5 months – GUM Clinic Antibody negative.
The problem is that I have been having a lot of symptoms since the event occurred including fever, night sweats, weight loss, swollen tonsils, and now i’ve developed twitching.
I’ve been to the GP several times and they are puttting everything down to anxiety, and hence, I have tried councelling and even hypnotherapy. The problem is that I am feeling more and more fatigued, severe headaches, and have been feeling miscoordinated. I have had a fungal infection on my penis and I am still extremely worried that I have HIV.
Due to the twitching, I have finally been referred to a neurologist, and it has been suggested that I have an MRI done.
What are the chances that these symptoms are related to HIV and not something else.
Many thanks for this wonderful informative website.
Answer
Your clinic mis-informed you.
This was not a low risk exposure, it was ZERO risk.
Your tests confirm that you are HIV-negative.
Symptoms not related to HIV are beyond the scope of this website.
