Q and A

Question

Is a test 80 days after a possible exposure conclusive?

Hi there, just a straightforward question. Is an HIV test 80 days after exposure conclusive? I tested with Detrmine and Capillus test at the 80th day with negative result.

Is it good enough not to do another one at the 12 weeks?

Answer

Two of these rapid tests it is usually enough. We strongly advise, however, all people with an active sexual life to test regularly-say every six months. Technically, UK guidelines recommend that a negative test after 90 days is conclusive.

These are questions that you should also ask your testing centre.
