Q and A

Question

Should I be worried if my viral load increases from 20 to 100?

Answer

The increase in your viral load could be a ‘blip’.   Another reason could be due to adherence.  Are you taking your medication on time and every time?  Have you missed or taking late dosage lately?

One more reason is that it could be a lab error and it is quite common for this to happen.  You need to go back to your test centre and ask them to repeat the test again, in order to confirm test result is accurate.  There no need to be concerned since you are on treatment and your viral load is at undetectable level presently.

Stress will not affect your viral load.  The factors that affects viral load are other infections such as cold or flu.
