How should I interpret my results?

I am 24 and have been recently diagnosed HIV-positive.

I got back my first baseline results and am due to go back for another next week.

My inital results were CD4 590 and viral load 309.
The consultant said that this might indicate that either my immune system was good and effectively finghting the virus or that I had been infected with a weak strain.

I want to know a bit more about how I should interpret these results and whether there are different HIV strains? Is that HIV 1 and HIV 2?
