How long do I need to wait before I test again?

I was just tested using the OraSure method – and I came up as reactive. I had to do another OraSure test in order to verify. What is the best way to handle this? I have heard of false positives – the staff at the clinic kept reassuring me that this may be a false positive. I’ve been testing at this clinic for over 4 years. Now I’m in the 2 week waiting period and, frankly, I’m scared. I believe I’m infected, but I’ve had no tell tale signs. It’s going to be an awful 2 weeks. If it’s a false positive when do I get tested again? Thank you!

First, let me say that I am sorry to hear this.
Then, may I suggest instead of going on with that torture of not knowing to either ask your clinic to do a PCR test, or if your finances allow you to do it privately (in case they refuse). Thus you will know your status and will be able to take it from there.
