My HIV+ baby is not eating and is losing weight

Hi,
I’ve got a 14 months girl and she’s Hiv positive and on medication.
The problem is she’s not eating and lost a lot weight and she’s vomiting her medication I don’t know what to do.
Answer
It’s very important that you take your daughter to see a doctor as soon as possible.
Her doctor will want to find out what is causing her to refuse food and to vomit, and check whether her HIV medicines are working properly. If she’s vomiting straight after taking her medication this may mean she won’t be absorbing enough of the drugs for them to be effective.
It may be that she just has a stomach bug or something else simple to deal with, but it is very important that you get medical advice incase this is something more serious.
